Last night Mrs. Campbell of this city, had her smokehouse undermined and robbed of a large quantity of bacon, etc. etc. (one of the comfortable effects of having no Watch in this Metropolis.)

Pigs were butchered in the winter and it took about two months for the hams to be properly salted and smoked. The thief, therefore, knew that Mrs. Campbell's smokehouse would be full.
