To be SOLD on credit, or exchanged for NEGROES,
A VALUABLE TRACT OF TOBACCO LAND, containing 1260 acres, on Nottoway river, in Brunswick county, distant about 30 miles from Petersburg, and within a very few miles of two considerable merchant mills. Any person inclined to exchange, or purchase, may know the terms, by applying to Mr. Robert Walker, in Dinwiddie, Mr. Daniel Fisher, in Brunswick, or to the subscriber in Mecklenburg.

About this entry:
Sir Peyton Skipwith (1740-1805) inherited this land, the Stony Hill Plantation on the death of his father, Sir William Skipwith in 1764. Although he advertised the land for sale in 1772, it wasn't actually sold until 1793. Sir Peyton proceeded to build Prestwould in Mecklenburg County and to name it after the ancestral home in Leicestershire.
