WILLIAMSBURG, January 3, 1777.
WANTED for casting cannon, for the defence of this commonwealth, a large quantity of COPPER and BRASS; and it is hoped, every wellwisher to his country, who has any of either, will forthwith deliver it to one of the representatives for the county where such brass or copper can be had, who will be pleased to inform me thereof by first opportunity, that proper steps may be taken to send for it, and when a generous price will be paid to the owner. By order of his Excellency the Governour.
