Description |
Colonial Williamsburg marks the 30th anniversary of its Rare Breed program, which seeks to preserve the lineage of animals facing the prospect of distinction. Rare breeds include American Millking Devons, Leicester Longwool sheep and select examples of horses, chickens, and pigs, the domestic animals familiar to early Americans. The work of edicated longtime CW supporter and volunteer, Jeanne Asplundh of Willow Brook Farm in Ft. Washington, Pa., has been key to the preservation of the Leicester Longwood breed.
