Description Built in 1714-16 as proposed by Lt. Governor Alexander Spotswood as the storehouse to safeguard weapons and gunpowder secured from Queen Anne for Virginia's defense, the brick fasthold in Williamsburg's central square became the flash point of the Revolution in Virginia. CWF, partnering with Preservation Virginia, has restored the structure as an exhibition structure, supported by the John and Linda Muckel Endowment Fund for the Magazine.
