Description 1) The Inconvenience of Travel--Description of digital portfolio project by Dave Doody, manager of photographic services,which show colonial modes of land transportation using wagons, coaches, horses and stock as provided by Richard Nicoll, Director of Coach and Livestock Operations. The project is financed by $10,000 grant from Eddie Robinson, a member of the Raleigh Tavern Society. 2)Learning while Repairing Masonry--details of unusual masonry probems and techniques used in the 18th c. are revealed while current restoration masons make repairs to colonial houses. 3) Martha Washington's Dressing Table--Cabinetmaker Peter Scott completed the table in 1754 at his Duke of Gloucester Street shop and still resides at Mt. Vernon. With cooperation of the MV Ladies Association and support of gift from Debbie Nickles & Richard Strayer of West Chester, PA,, cabinetmakers Kaare Lostheim and Brian Welby are reproducing the item in the Antony Hay reconstructed cabinetmaking shop on Nicholson Street.
