Title The Slavery Quandary
Issue Volume 02, Number 01 (T&T, Winter 2017)
Description Although George Washington had long suffered qualms about the institution of slavery, he waited until he was dying to free his own slaves, postponing even that action until the death of Martha Washington. His emancipation plan was carried out one year after his death by Martha "for prudential reasons".
