Title Piecing Together A Story (Organized Piano)
Issue Volume 02, Number 01 (T&T, Winter 2017)
Description An unusual organized piano built in 1799 by Williamsburg cabinetmaker Benjamin Bucktrout for St. George Tucker took a circuitous route to restoration by John Watson, CWF musical instrument conservator. Acquired by CW in 2012 the instrument had been disassembled and neglected in a Richmond, VA warehouse, and now is on display at the DWDAM in the exhibit "Changing Keys". The exhibit also includes George Washington's double manual harpsichord, on loan from Mount Vernon.
