Description | Christ's Hospital, a charitable school for poor and disadvantaged children in London, had a reputation that was carried by students like Thomas Everard. This was where he was educated in grammer and writing while learning the art of maintaining accounts and bookkeeping. Students were called Bluecoat Boys because of their uniforms. He was apprenticed to Matthew Kemp in Williamsburg upon completing his education in 1734. |
