Description |
Inspiration for the Christmas decorations at the Abby Aldrich Folk Art Museum this year comes from the work of 19th Century American artist Martha Ann Honeywell. Although Honeywell was born without arms, she was able to use her teeth and toes to create elaborate cut work paper and silk pieces. A piece of hers featuring the Lord’s Prayer, along with birds and vines, is what inspired wreaths and Christmas ornaments at Colonial Williamsburg. This article includes instructions for making your own cut paper version.
