Dr. John De Seqyeyra (1712-95) who treated patients in Williamsburg for some two generations left few records of himself but many of of symptoms and trial-and-error treatments of 18th c. illnesses. Of Jewish descent he was never cited for failure to attend or pay taxes to Bruton Parish Church, a mandatory requirement of 18th c. Virginia.
