Title Washington's Ancestral Home: Sulgrave Manor
Issue Volume 02, Number 01 (T&T, Winter 2017)
Description The restoration of Sulgrave Manor was first begun in 1914 and then implemented in the 1920's through a joint effort of the British and the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America. Built in the mid-1500's, it was abandoned in the 17th c. when John Washington emigrated to the northern part of Virginia. Geneaology of the Washington family is traced from Sulgrave Manor to Mount Vernon 1500-1800.
