Thomas Bolling Diary.

Thomas Bolling (d. 1836) was the son of Thomas Bolling (1735–1804). He was a deaf-mute who was educated in Scotland. Entries include an obituary note on John Turner, a shoemaker, clockmaker, and servant at Cobbs plantation in Chesterfield County, VA; a list (1787–1792) of cattle that died of distemper; a transcript of a letter (January 4, 1792) from Archer Branch to Robert Turnbull concerning the shooting of Turnbull’s son; an account (1811) of house expenses including flour, candlesticks, snuffers, mustard, linen, and wineglasses; a detailed list of books purchased between 1812–1845, and yearly expenditures on books.
