Jeffery Amherst, New York, to Donald Campbell. Concerns raising 268 recruits from the colony of Virginia for the King’s forces. Campbell is chosen to go to Hampton [Virginia] on the Ranger and from there to Williamsburg to review the recruits. There he is to deliver a letter to Lt. Gov. [Francis] Fauquier. Provides a credit on John Hunter to pay the bounties. Troops are to board the ship immediately for the return trip to New York.
