Manuscript book of arithmetical rules, definitions, and problems covering addition and subtraction of whole numbers, money, and weights; multiplication and division of money; proportion; profit and loss; interest; and reduction of fractions, with many exercises for each type of problem.

Found in the book was an undated letter [?] to “Uncle,” explaining that the writer has not been able to visit Scotland because of the “troublesome situation of affairs here.”
